TOHO JAPAN excels at copper etching, where a pattern is transferred from color-printed paper to unglazed porcelains. TOHO thought that a pressed flower might be a perfect motif to be engraved using this technique, because it is a two-dimensional artwork made from a three-dimensional object. Copper etching is an old-fashioned way to paint pottery; however, the TOHO artisans have successfully created modern patterns by paying special attention to details while bringing out the best performance of the technique.
