Koinobori-jiku
Integration of a carp streamer and Kakejiku (hanging scroll)
Responding to a customer request to enjoy the outdoor carp streamer indoors, we mounted the streamer for a scroll using our traditional Kakejiku making techniques. The artisan carefully mounts an actual carp streamer one by one, and the leftover streamer fabric is used for its storage box. It can be displayed as a wall décor on its own, arranged with a traditional Japanese armor for the Boy’s Festival called “tango no sekku,” or any other ways you prefer.
