Porcelain Washbasin [Choju Giga]

Porcelain washbasin made with the Mino ware technique, which has a history dating back to the 13th century.

Choju Giga is a painting depicting anthropomorphic animals painted in the 12th and 13th centuries.
It is said to have been drawn by several artists, and although the details are unknown, it is designated as a national treasure.
Because of their design and technique, they are sometimes called Japan's oldest manga.

This washbasin is decorated with Choju Giga pattern.
The design is applied under the glaze, so it will not deteriorate with daily use.
