It has been considered difficult to create wooden bathtubs in free-form shapes. Hinoki Soken has made it possible through techniques developed from wooden bathtub production. A key feature is the structure, which does not require metal “hoops,” typically regarded as essential for R-shaped bathtubs. The O-Bath was developed in collaboration with the world-renowned designer Motomi Kawakami. By minimizing Japanese design elements, a modern design has been achieved. This product has received high praise both in Japan and overseas and won the Good Design Award 2010.
