Black Glaze Lacquer Peony 5.5 Bowl 1,050 cc
Bowl with a mature, sparkling and dignified expression
This bowl is as chic and modern as one made of black lacquer. It features a beautiful contrast of red and black, and gives off a dignified impression like lacquerware. A black glaze, which is commonly used in earthenware, is applied to this reinforced porcelain. It makes this bowl tough and durable. Usually made in a throwing process, the rim tends to chip easily. However, our skilled artisans work by hand to make the rim round to prevent breakage. A special “enamel glaze baking” method is employed. After arabesque peony patterns are drawn in colors of red and black, the bowl is baked at temperatures as high as approximately 1,230 degree C. Paints are added into the melted glaze to produce color. The bowl is finished with a glossy coating to make it shiny and beautiful. The colors and patterns do not fade through repeated washing in a dishwasher.
