The solid and graceful form reflects “WAKON - Japanese Spirit”

Since the era of ancient Nara and Kyoto, Hida Takayama has possessed excellent traditional woodcraft techniques, which are called “Hida no Takumi.” The origin of Japanese beauty is found in the townscape in Takayama and the splendid handiwork of its parade floats. This WAKON dining chair was developed to advance into the next stage based on this tradition. It was a continuous process of trial and error for us to achieve a beautiful form while pursuing functionality. After strict elimination of extra decorations, precise processing of details, and achievement of perfection, we launch this chair as the first step in a new tradition.
