Mino Shirakawa-cha
It is luxury Sencha from Mino Shirakawa. The first flush Shirakawacha grown carefully and picked up at peak season is made into mellow high-quality green tea leaves.
The origin of Shirakawa Tea is considered to date back to the Muromachi era (around 1400s), when a master priest of Banryuji temple in Higashi Shirakawa village brought tea plants back from Uji City in Kyoto and suggested the villagers to grow them.
“Mino Shirakawa Tea” is cultivated under the favorable conditions, including the altitudes of 650 meters, rich greenery, clear waters, and fresh air. Although the production amount is low, Shirakawa Tea’s little astringency and mild flavor attribute to high quality tea. The plant species is called “Yabukita,” which has a unique and distinct scent and subtle sweetness.
