The Tokuda green onion used in this product is a traditional vegetable of Mino, Gifu. Cultivation of Tokuda green onion has begun in the Edo period, and especially grown in Ginan-cho, Gifu Prefecture.
Tokuda green onion is an intermediate type between the white green onions and green onions, and both white roots and leaves are edible. Characterized by soft and sweet with little peculiar odor and taste, and can be eaten deliciously.
We use this Tokuda green onions and dry them at a low temperature for long hours to retain the flavor of the green onions.
Plenty amount of dried Tokuda green onion are used to make this Shichimi pepper with a condensed sweetness peculiar to Tokuda variety.
Enjoy the umami, aroma and spiciness. Even if you don’t like green onions, you could easily enjoy the green onion Shichimi chili pepper made with Tokuda green onions.
